Hi everybody, this tutorial is aimed at people that are new to PotPvP or just in general pvp (Build UHC, Gapple (etc)
1. Sensitivity & DPI
A HUGE factor in PvP is Sensitivity, sensitivity comes down to your aim, pot refilling (pot refilling is based on DPI not sensitivity) and some other VERY important things.
Here is how you can find the perfect sensitivity for PvP.
Try a very low sensitivity on Minecraft and go up in small increments like 3, 5, 8 etc and test it out in a pvp match, preferably a friend that is decent at PvP.
Test out Jittering on the sensitivity you find aswell, experiment, do things like normal clicking, jitter, drag and some other techniques. If it is shaky but you can manage it then leave it, if it is shaky and you CANNOT manage it try going for a lower sensitivity and getting used to that.
DPI (Dots Per Inch) is very important when PvPing as it does affect sensitivity, usually mouses have a DPI button (Razer, Gecko, etc etc) Test out which DPI is the best fitting for you.
JTTL: If you’re converting from normal clicking to jittering, don’t try use your normal in-game sens. When you jitter you have a lot less mobility in your hand when you first start so up your IN-GAME sensitivity. You’ll have to almost double it to have good aim with jittering compared to normally aiming. For me, normally clicking I use 80 in-game 400 DPI and for jittering 450 DPI and 145 in-game.
Alright, get that out of here.
Potting / Refilling
Now a very important thing in PotPvP is refills & actually potting.
I’d suggest practising refilling in singleplayer and trying to get quick refills, I usually refill horizontally but you can refill anyway you want. Try and aim for smoothly refilling and don’t refill after you use 2 pots. (i’d call that pulling a lolitsalex)
Now I prefer waiting for the opponent to stop hitting you and then potting, but when you’re very low try your best to not spam them. If you pot every 2 seconds whilst they hit you, you are doing something wrong, I suggest turning around and hitting them and then returning back to pot because there is a less chance of them hitting you off your pot.
Hotkeys on your keyboard
Personally, this might not mean anything to you but this can be a very good thing to do.
I have Toggle Perspective set to F so I don’t have to reach over to F5 everytime and my 8 & 9 set to Mouse 5 and Mouse 4. Sometimes when I’m playing Build UHC I put the gapples to slot 8 and lava to 9 as those 2 are very important features in build uhc.
Try experimenting with different things, some may be comfortable and some not.
If there is anything else you would like me to add, Just let me know down below and I will most likely add it.
